Blueberry Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients

Almond Milk 1 cup

Blueberries 1/2 cup

Banana 1, frozen

Oats, 1/4 cup

Peanut Butter 1 tbsp

Vanilla Protein 1 scoop

Salt, dash

Ice 1/4 cup

This smoothie is the perfect breakfast smoothie if you’re looking to start your day off right.

As far as nutrition goes, this smoothie has all the macronutrients: Carbs (70g)- Blueberries, Banana, Oats, Protein (27g) - Vanilla Protein Powder, Peanut Butter, Oats, and Fats (16g) - Peanut Butter, Almond Milk.

It’s got a sweet blueberry, vanilla, peanut butter flavor, that’s soft and not overly sweet. The Banana, Oats, and Peanut Butter keep it thick and smooth while the frozen Blueberries, Banana and Ice keep it nice and icy cool.

This is also a good post workout smoothie. Blueberries have excellent antioxidant properties and its got a good mix of fats, carbs and protein all under 500 calories. Even at under 500 calories its got 27g of protein to help you recover.

To make this smoothie, start by adding the Almond Milk. Then the solids, starting with frozen Banana and Blueberries. Then add a the Oats and the Peanut Butter. Then add the scoop of Vanilla Protein powder. Then top it off with a dash of Sea Salt and the ice. Blend for a bit, starting on a lower speed then working up to higher speeds to break the ice. Blend until all ingredients are mixed and you have a smooth consistency. Taste and add additional ingredients or more Blueberries or Peanut Butter to taste. If too icy add a bit more Almond Milk.

Makes about one 20oz serving

Optional Super Boosts:

Add an extra scoop of Peanut Butter to add to the PB flavor

Try with Almond Butter instead of Peanut Butter

Add 1/2 of Strawberries and make it a PB&J smoothie
