This is a great low calorie coconut, mixed berry smoothie for weight loss. This smoothie has a mildly sweet taste. It starts off with an icy mixed berry taste that’s rounded off by the coconut flavor reducing some of the acidity of the berries.

All the ingredients have potential weight loss benefits due to their low calorie content, high fiber content, and ability to promote feeling full. They also have a range of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to support overall health and wellness. Here are some of the benefits of each ingredients:

Coconut Water:

Hydration: Coconut water is a natural electrolyte-rich beverage that can help maintain proper hydration during weight loss efforts.

Low in Calories: It’s relatively low in calories compared to other beverages for smoothies, making it a suitable base for a low-calorie smoothie. It also has a nice soft, light taste to go along with it.

Blueberries:

Antioxidants: Blueberries are rich in antioxidants that help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals, which supports overall health during weight loss.

Fiber: Blueberries contain dietary fiber, which aids in promoting feelings of fullness, reducing appetite, and supporting healthy digestion.

Strawberries:

Vitamin C: Strawberries are a good source of vitamin C, which can support the immune system during weight loss efforts when calorie intake may be reduced.

Fiber: Similar to blueberries, strawberries provide dietary fiber, which can help control hunger and support digestive health.

Flax Seeds:

Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Flax seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which can have anti-inflammatory effects and contribute to heart health.

Fiber: Flax seeds are an excellent source of dietary fiber, which aids in satiety, helps regulate blood sugar levels, and promotes healthy digestion.

Chia Seeds:

Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Chia seeds are another source of omega-3 fatty acids, which can promote heart health and aid in weight management.

Fiber and Gel-forming Properties: Chia seeds absorb liquid and form a gel-like consistency, promoting a feeling of fullness and helping to control appetite.

Coconut Flakes:

Healthy Fats: Coconut flakes contain medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which are a type of healthy fat that can be utilized for energy rather than stored as fat.

Flavor and Texture: Coconut flakes add a pleasant taste and texture to smoothies, enhancing their overall appeal.

Directions

To make this smoothie, start by adding the Coconut Water. Then add the frozen Strawberries and Blueberries. Next add the Flax Seed Powder/Chia Seed blend or a bit of each on their own. Then sprinkle in a few Coconut Flakes to give it an extra pop of coconut flavor and some texture. Blend for a bit, starting on a lower speed then speed up as needed to break down the frozen fruit. Blend until all ingredients are mixed and you have a smooth, but icy consistency. Taste and add additional ingredients to taste. Top off with some more Coconut Flakes.
