Tropical Orange Slushie Smoothie
Ingredients
This is a light and icey, tropical smoothie that almost tastes like an awesome slushie. It’s got a mild, yet tangy orange, strawberry taste that kids will love. It’s a great alternative to just having a glass of OJ. It’s also perfect frozen as a popsicle too.
This one has six ingredients and is under 200 calories if you’re counting calories or have a weight loss goal. It’s also got a ton of Vitamin C for you.
Start by adding the OJ. OJ tends to dominate smoothies so don’t over do it. Then add a bit of water to counter the acidity of the OJ. Next add the frozen strawberry and mango. Then add the ice and blend for a bit, starting on a lower speed then working up to higher speeds to break the ice. Taste and add some honey and additional ingredients to your desired taste.
Makes about one 16oz serving
Optional Super Boosts:
Add a 1/2 tsp of turmeric if you want a pop of orange color and want to reduce inflammation and boost the antioxidant effects
Add a tablespoon of collagen protein to support the health of your skin, joints and hair
Add 1/2 a frozen banana if you just want this one to be extra thick and delicious
